Alami Specialised Hospital Recognized Through Independent Research for High Quality Healthcare Services

Somalia Healthcare Quality Research – Alami Specialised Hospital-Mogadishu    May 2026

Brilliance Research & Consultant (BRCsom) conducted an independent healthcare quality assessment at Alamy Specialised Hospital as part of an ongoing initiative to evaluate and strengthen healthcare standards in Somalia through evidence-based research and direct institutional assessment.

The research was led by Prof. Shafic Yusuf Omar, CEO of Brilliance Research & Consultant (BRCsom), with the objective of assessing operational quality, healthcare delivery systems, patient experience, institutional organization, and the reliability of medical services provided to the public.

The assessment was conducted through direct field observation, facility inspection, patient engagement, staff interviews, and operational review. The research covered major hospital departments including laboratory services, scan and diagnostic units, pharmacy systems, patient service areas, storage facilities, and general healthcare environment standards.

Particular attention was given to the sourcing, handling, and storage of medicines used by the hospital. The research team reviewed storage conditions, operational hygiene, temperature management, environmental cleanliness, and institutional organization to determine whether the systems in place met acceptable professional healthcare standards.

Interviews and discussions were conducted with hospital administration, doctors, staff members, and patients receiving treatment within the facility. Patient feedback collected during the assessment reflected strong confidence in the quality of care, continuity of treatment, professionalism of staff, and general patient handling practices.

The findings indicate that Alami Specialised Hospital has achieved a professional operational standard in several key areas of healthcare service delivery. The hospital demonstrated organized medical operations, functional diagnostic systems, professional patient management, and active healthcare service delivery supported by qualified personnel and improving institutional systems.

The assessment further identified that the hospital environment reflected increasing healthcare maturity in Mogadishu, particularly in relation to cleanliness standards, patient flow management, service coordination, and responsiveness of healthcare personnel.

As part of wider comparative healthcare observation work, Brilliance Research reviewed healthcare service environments and operational systems in countries including India, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Based on direct observations, practical comparisons, and institutional review, the quality of service delivery and patient engagement observed at Alami Specialised Hospital was found to be comparable to many regional healthcare institutions and, in several practical areas, demonstrated stronger patient-centered service and follow-up practices.

The research also reviewed public perceptions surrounding overseas medical travel. Many Somali families continue to seek treatment abroad due to long-standing assumptions regarding healthcare quality outside the country. However, findings collected during this assessment suggest that a growing number of healthcare services currently available in Mogadishu are capable of managing conditions for which patients unnecessarily travel abroad.

Several patients interviewed during the research reported that after traveling overseas for consultation, they were advised to continue medication and treatment plans originally provided by hospitals in Somalia. These experiences reflect a growing recognition of the improvements taking place within Somalia’s healthcare sector.

At the same time, the research acknowledges that challenges remain within the broader healthcare environment. Public mentality and inconsistent standards among a limited number of unqualified healthcare operators continue to affect trust in local systems. However, these gaps should not overshadow the measurable progress being achieved by qualified and professionally managed healthcare institutions operating in Somalia today.

No institution or healthcare system in any part of the world operates without areas requiring improvement. For this reason, BRCsom believes that independent research, transparency, institutional evaluation, and constructive professional feedback are essential for strengthening public trust and supporting long-term healthcare development.

Based on direct field research, patient interviews, institutional observation, and operational assessment, Brilliance Research officially recognizes Alamy Specialised Hospital as a High Quality and Research-Verified Healthcare Provider.

This recognition is based on verified findings and evidence collected directly from the field rather than advertisement or promotional claims. The assessment confirms that the hospital demonstrates reliable operational systems, professional healthcare delivery, and increasing public confidence within Mogadishu and the wider Banaadir region.

BRCsom further announces that this healthcare quality assessment initiative will continue across additional hospitals and healthcare institutions throughout Mogadishu. Future assessments will focus on differentiating healthcare service levels, operational quality, patient satisfaction, and institutional standards across the four corners of Mogadishu and the central districts serving an estimated population exceeding 3.5 million people.

The purpose of this broader initiative is to encourage healthy institutional competition, improve transparency, promote accountability, and guide the public toward reliable healthcare providers through evidence-based evaluation.

In addition to healthcare institutions, BRCsom will expand independent research and assessment activities into related sectors including food health and safety standards, cosmetic products, pharmaceutical supply systems, and medical drug importing companies operating within Somalia.

These assessments aim to support national development, improve consumer confidence, strengthen public safety awareness, and encourage higher operational standards across essential sectors connected to public wellbeing.

Where gaps or operational weaknesses are identified, BRCsom will continue to provide constructive observations and professional recommendations intended to support improvement and long-term institutional strengthening.

The progress currently being observed in Somalia’s healthcare and technology sectors reflects a broader national recovery driven by local expertise, investment, innovation, expanding internet access, and increasing public awareness. Somalia is steadily rebuilding professional systems capable of supporting national development and reducing dependence on external services in many sectors.

BRCsom believes that supporting reliable local institutions through independent research and public awareness is essential to building stronger national confidence and sustainable sectoral growth for the future of Somalia.
